Mohamed Abla was born in Mansoura in 1953. In 1973 he enrolled at the Faculty of Fine Arts. There he showed his first solo exhibition at the Hohmann Gallery in northern Germany. Two years later he moved to Vienna to study graphics and to exhibit at the AAI Gallery. He then continued to Zurich where he studied graphic, sculpture and art therapy. In 2006 he became the Professor at the International Art Academy in Salzburg, Austria. Mohamed Abla has held many solo and group exhibitions in Egypt. Some of those include the Cairo Atelier, the Mashrabeya Gallery, the Sheba Gallery, the Berlin Art Gallery Cairo and the Zamalek Art Gallery.
